How long have you been in business?
I was factory trained and worked for another company in the early '90s. Actually, I saw several opportunities to do things better than that company, so in 1999 I started out on my own and "The Door Guy" was born!
What is your primary product or service?
I do garage doors. I can install completely new doors to replace broken down doors whose time has passed, or I can fix an existing door with quality parts and get it working like brand new. I work on all types of doors, from pull up to roll up, residential or commercial. If it's a garage door, I can fix it. I can even teach you how to maintain it so that you can get maximum life from your door.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I've always liked working with my hands and doing mechanical things. So, working with garage doors seemed a good fit for me when I sought a job in the early 90's. As I soon discovered, this profession fit me to a tee and after a few years of learning on the job (and being factory trained) I decided to branch out on my own!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
In my business we don't have a lot of moving parts. By that I mean, I AM THE BUSINESS and therefor I can respond quickly and give an accurate and timely fix to your dilemma of a broken or non-working door. And, because I don't have a lot of overhead costs, I can be extremely competitive with my prices.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Just one, and no, I don't really expect nor want to expand. I like the personal service I can provide for my clients and don't want that to change.
