How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In 1996 it was apparent that the photographic industry that I had spent the previous 20 years being involved with was dramatically changing. It went from being an unique tool to a disposable toy and the manufacturers of quality cameras were in trouble. As a Senior Account Executive for Minolta Camera Corporation the industry trend did not look promising.
I searched for almost a year to find an undeserved industry based upon internet technology and founded our parent company, Data Research Network.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My training was based upon working in our family delicatessen from an early age, which was established in 1922. That customer-specific experience would today be probably described as the "Nordstrum" treatment. In an otherwise disconnected internet world, HireSafe clients are treated as individuals with needs for us to fulfill, not an accounting entry.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are centralized in the Sacramento area, and the power of the internet allows us to serve clients in all 50 states, territories, Washington DC as well as internationally.
