A Community of Faith, Excellence, Leadership, and Service
St. Francis High School is a four-year, all-female college preparatory high school. It is the only Catholic high school in Sacramento affiliated with the Diocese of Sacramento and serves young women hailing from over fifty private and public feeder schools in the California counties of Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, and Placer.
St. Francis is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA).
Established as a school for young women in 1940, St. Francis High School encourages the education of the whole person by providing high academic standards, a Christian environment for spiritual development, a full range of athletics, fine and performing arts, numerous on-campus clubs, and a variety of social activities.
In our Mission Statement and Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs), we hope you gain an insight into the spirit of St. Francis. We encourage you to explore our website links, offering specifics for potential, current, and alumnae families interested in St. Francis High School.
Award-winning new buildings constructed in 2003-2004 doubled the size of the school facilities. The Fine and Performing Arts Complex, Library/Resource Center, Gymnasium/Fitness Complex, four science labs and an Administration Building brought a new aesthetic to SFHS's East Sacramento location while providing a state of the art learning environment. In 2009, the Campus Life Center (CLC) opened, serving as the hub of social and spiritual campus life and providing office space for students and staff in Campus Ministry and Student Activities.
St. Francis High School is currently underway with constructing a new Dining Hall and modernizing areas of campus to meet the needs of our growing student body. The beautiful and functional structures on the St. Francis campus serve as the framework in which the school's mission continues and young women enjoy an educational experience that is uniquely "St. Francis."
