California School Nurses Association
The California School Nurses Organization (CSNO) was formally organized in 1950 after 2 years of meetings for "the promotion of comprehensive and constructive school health programs. and for the promotion of professional advancement of school nurses."
Since the 1950's, CSNO has been promoting and strengthening the role of school nurses in the educational community. Today the organization's goals are professional development, legislative advocacy, and communication among school nurses, membership recruitment, public relations, governance, and leadership development.
The CSNO state office is now located in Sacramento, near the State Capitol. The state of California is divided into five CSNO sections: Northern, Southern, San Diego Imperial, Bay Coast, and Central Valley.
